Weeeeeeeeee're Baaaaaaaaaaack!

Well Stephen and I got back from our trip to Asheville a short while ago.  It was beautiful there!  I love the mountains...the views, the fresh air and the new experiences.

We stayed at thhis classy B&B called the Richmond Hill Inn in the Susan Elizabeth suite.  I had a massive king size bed (we sleep on a queen at home...it was like having my own bed!), a sitting area and a bathroom with a jacuzzi tub.  The two nights were paid for by LeBauer - we got the receipt and I can honestly say that I would not have picked so expensive a place to stay!  Too rich for my blood.  But as I said, it was beautiful.

We got there Thursday evening so didn't really do anything but check out the local mall.  Which was HUGE!

Then Friday we went Chimney Rock and stayed there for a few hours.  We visited a water fall, took some great pictures then headed to "the chimney."  It was like 85 degrees and all steps to the top.  That joker kicked my ass...literally.  I had to stop and rest quite a few times (we were like to only couple who didn't bring any water!).  Once we got to the top we took more pictures and cooled off in the breeze up there.  Then later that afternoon we went to the mile-high bridge on Grandfather Mountain.  They were having wind gusts up to 60 mph that afternoon.  The bridge is a metal swinging bridge, and it was NOT fun feeling that sucker sway in those wind gusts!  YIKES.  Even if I hadn't taken any pictures I don't think I'll ever forget that one!

Oh yeah, after we got back to Asheville from seeing Grandfather Mtn we ate supper in the food court at the mall.  And guess what.  After I got done paying for dinner with my debit card, I slipped it back into my pocketbook.  This morning in the gift shop, I couldn't find it!!  OMG!  That was not cool.  And yes, I looked everywhere for it.  Of course I was thinking that somebody's probably found it and bout a shit load of stuff with MY MONEY.  Luckily when I called Wachovia, I was told that no new transactions were made since last night.  WHEW.  So I had that one de-activated (you never know who may have copied my card number, etc) and a new one issued.  It will be here in "5-7 business days" ( <~ said in an operator's voice).  Poor Stephen has had to pay for everything since then though.

This morning we went to Biltmore.  Talk about beauty.  The house was gorgeous, but pales in comparison to the grounds/gardens.  The landscaping was spectacular.  You can tell that the people who care for the yards really care about them.  We were naively planning on staying there only 2-3 hours but ended up being there over 5.  Not only did we tour the house and gardens but also the bass pond, waterfall, trails, farm with the animals and smithy (whom we got to watch hammer out a leaf keychain...super cool).  We had a blast and enjoyed every minute of it.

It was fun, so hopefully it will hold me until October.  =o)
