Poor Daddy...

Yesterday, today and tomorrow Daddy is scheduled to be at Duke for "possible aphoresis" (where they try to harvest the stem cells that will later be transplanted back into his body).  All 3 days were scheduled as "possible" so that there is some room for cushion in case he is/is not able to have the aphoresis on 1 or more days.  Anyway, the particular stem cell markers they were looking for in his labs yesterday were too low...and today too.  He's battling dehydration, loss of appetite and nausea, full-body pain from the neupogen and fatigue.  And poor Momma ain't too far behind him.

So bless their hearts, they have to go back to Duke tonight (10pm) so Daddy can receive a "growth factor" that will hopefully stimulate the stem cells.  Then they have to be back in Durham tomorrow morning at 8am for an appointment with GI for clearance and lab work.  If they can't harvest tomorrow I don't know what is going to happen.  D-Day is next Friday.  After all the planning, scheduling, and ping-pong with insurance I hate to think that this whole thing is going to be postponed.  And on top of all this, it's raining buckets outside.  I told Momma she better call me when they get there..."Don't make me worry!"

Please keep my parents in your prayers and thoughts, web-readers, they need all the help they can get.  Thanks!
