It's hard for me to believe that it's only been a week since I've last posted...seems much longer!
Well we only have a little over 30 days until our trip! YAY! Excitement doesn't begin to touch it. I'm trying to get some things together like a packing list, vaccination records (luckily we work for the same system so it's no hassle) and such. Trying to wrap my head around it gets a little overwhelming. I accept the challenge.
For Labor Day my whole family (immediate, anyway) drove to Wrightsville Beach for the day. It rained here all day long, but luckily the beach was beautiful - sunny pretty much all day. You can tell from my full-body sunburn. I tell ya, for a "brown" person, I sure am red. Stephen and I had a good laugh over how jacked up we look. I was super sore but we've been treating it with aloe vera gel, ibuprofen, and witch hazel. Mine is much better but poor Stephen's hasn't improved by much.
Nate has his physical tomorrow morning for the Coast Guard. He had to go to Charlotte, and the CG is paying for his room at a hotel. They (all of the other folks trying to get in) will be shuttled to the facility at 5:45 in the morning for physical. It's looking like it's more than just talk now. I miss him already. Oh yeah, that joker didn't have ONE sunburned place on his whole body! And he found it quite fun picking on Momma, Stephen and I.
Daddy has an appointment at Duke tomorrow to have some blood work drawn, an EKG and to talk to a nurse about a tentative schedule for the upcoming chemo. I'll make sure to let you know how that goes.
Had some excitement with the Megan today. I'll wait another couple of days to explain all that though. I don't want to post anything without her permission or knowledge.
